The nature of the activity that we love means that we travel to climb and explore. We aim to minimise our environmental impact as we do this.
As a company we use public transport where possible and use the carbon offsetting project described below to mitigate some of the inevitable impact of flights that we take.
Chamonix, the base for our alpine rock climbing trips, is easily reached by rail from the UK.
We have found buying an interrail pass to be a particularly cost effective way to do this, using a ticket that gives a set number of days to travel across the UK and Europe in a sat time period.
For more information about how to travel to Chamonix by train see: https://www.seat61.com/France.htm
The choice to fly, in the face of climate change, is a personal one.
We limit flights where possible, but where unavoidable we offset the carbon released by donating to the Climate Project, a fantastic join venture between the British Mountaineering Council and Moors for the Future which restores moorland in the UK to prevent the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
There are many carbon offsetting schemes, offered directly by airlines when booking flights and from elsewhere.
